چکیده
The genus Parastratiosphecomyia Brunetti is revised with the description of two new species: Parastratiosphecomyia freidbergisp. n. from India and Parastratiosphecomyia rozkosnyisp. n. from Laos and Thailand. All four species in the genus are illustrated and a key to species is provided. Type localities of previously described taxa are briefly discussed.

A new generic synonym is also proposed, Nemodema Lindner, 1958 = Dolichodema Kertész, 1916, syn. n. A key is included for the six genera...
متن کاملBlack soldier fly (Diptera: Stratiomyidae) colonization of pig carrion in south Georgia.
The black soldier fly, Hermetia illucens (L.), is thought to colonize corpses 20-30 days postmortem. However, recent observations indicate this might not be true for all cases. Therefore, we conducted a study examining colonization by the black soldier fly and other Diptera on pig carrion in a plowed field in southern Georgia from 20 September through 21 February. Our data indicate black soldie...

They pass through a five stage lifecycle i.e. larva, prepupae, pupa, and adult. The adults, 15 to 20 mm in length) have no mouth parts and therefore do not bite nor do they sting and are not known to transmit any diseases. The larva, are ...
